The Mulgundawa Saltfield was established in the late 1800’s and has been owned by many different entities including a fireworks company, dried fruit producer, stock feed supplement business, and a fertiliser company. The current owners purchased the company in 1995. At that stage the company had only one small refinery and which kept production down to 800 ton per annum. With the introduction of new plant and more efficient harvesting methods Mulgundawa Salt has increased production to a rate of approximately 25,000 ton per annum which is steadily increasing.
Mulgundawa Salt produces a range of salts for use in the skin & hide and other industries and can also develop other products based on a customer’s specifications.
