Historic Strathalbyns first hospital was established in 1905 as a small cottage hospital, to meet the needs of a growing rural town and district community. From these humble beginnings, nearly 100 years ago, a modern health service comprising of 90 beds has evolved.
The hospital is a part of the Strathalbyn and District Health Service, which incorporates a public hospital, residential aged care and a day care centre to meet the needs of a growing community.
The Health Service is conveniently located in the centre of Strathalbyn in a quiet picturesque rural setting overlooking the River Angus and historic St Andrews church.
