The Strathablyn Racing Club was formed in 1922 by a group of south-coast racing enthusiasts. The popularity of the Club quickly attracted the attention of the Adelaide racing public who rapidly became regular patrons of the Club. As the Club generated profit this was invested back into the facilities, creating what is now accepeted as an exceptional racing surface and modern function, catering and betting facilities.
