AWARD WINNING MURRAY VALLEY CHEESE COMPANY

Murray Valley Cheese Company is situated on the banks of the Murray River 10km upstream from Murray Bridge in South Australia

Alex and Ray Deionno are the proprietors of the Murray Valley Cheese Company. They have been dairy farmers since 1972, milking 300 HOLSTEIN cows on a 50 Unit Computerized Rotary Dairy which has a capacity to milk 700 cows. The dairy has won the Weekly Times milk quality awards in 2003 and 2004.

Currently Murray Valley Cheese is using only 40% of the milk it produces on the dairy.

Alex and Ray decided to branch out into the cheese making with a particular focus on gourmet lines. Before commencement of production, Alex and Ray completed a 12 month Production Development course studied at Regency TAFE. The cheese factory was built in 2003 and started production in March 2004. The Murray Valley Cheese Company continues to expand with new lines being introduced all the time.

We are HACCP accredited by the Dairy Authority with audits every 6 months.
